Just wanted to share the good news from today's CINJ appointment.
The scans I had earlier this month were "unremarkable" . I know I like to think of myself as a pretty special woman but in this case I don't mind at all being unremarkable. My physical exam was good and my CA-125 was stable.
I am one happy camper.

Here is my version of a Woman of Teal. I created it during an art therapy class at CINJ in November 2007.

- In July 2005, I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. I was treated at the Cancer Institute of NJ and took part in a clinical trial using Selenium along with taxol and carboplatin. I became involved with the Lance Armstrong Foundation, Northern NJ National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Kaleidoscope of Hope ( Board Member), and the Wellness Community Central NJ. I am a member of the workgroup for the Gynecologic Cancer chapter of the NJ Cancer Control Plan. In November of 2008, I had surgery for a recurrence ( spleen and liver) and started chemo ( carbo and taxol) on January 6, 2009.On January 27th I had an allergic reaction to the carboplatin so I received taxol for the four remaining treatments. After CT and a PET scan I was told on May 8,2009 that I was done with chemo.
