Here are the articles and videos I found most interesting.
- My friend and ovarian cancer advocate Karen Mason was highlighted in the NY Times article "Widespread Flaws Found in Ovarian Cancer Treatment". I am happy that my gynecologist recommended me to the gynecologic oncologists at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) for surgery and treatment . I hope that in the future more medical students will choose to become gynecologic oncologists.
- Speaking of CINJ, Dr Rodriguez (one of my gyn-oncs) and Dr Banderas( an epidemiologist) from CINJ directed this study. "Sugary food and beverage consumption and epithelial ovarian cancer risk: a population-based case--control study" The study was done in Northern NJ and concluded that "Overall, we found little indication that sugar intake played a major role on ovarian cancer development."
- Medpage Today featured a number of articles on research presented at the meeting :

My hope is that next year I will be able to attend next year's meeting in Tampa so that I can hear the research reports first hand and offer the patient's perspective.

Thanks Dee. I had posted some of this on my Facebook page. You filled in some gaps.
